Levi Bielewicz, a Newark Highschool alumni and junior at the University of Delaware, recently became a recipient of the Goldwater Scholarship Award. He is one of 5 students selected for the award at UD and 454 students in the nation. The Goldwater award is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarships in the nation, awarded to students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to a career in researching the natural sciences. Levi was awarded the scholarship for his work in chemometrics, namely his expertise in applications of data analysis with a focus on machine learning. He aims to receive a PhD in chemistry in order to teach analytical chemistry at the university while researching applications of artificial intelligence in the field.
